Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.
Law enforcement state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.
The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.
Officers then located many other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report early analysis show the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no lead as to where it came from; officials are presently not informed of any harm in relation with the incident," they commented.
City officials stated they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the public for details.
A senior official commented the vandalism rendered him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.
"This event affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, recalling the death of nine victims by a assailant focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
